Mandate
Action ontarienne contre la violence faite aux femmes (Action ontarienne) is a province-wide francophone and feminist organization working towards the full equality of women, in all their diversity, including through service development, advocacy, awareness-raising, collaboration, and resource supply.
Values
Respect
We interact with people, in all their diversity, in a spirit of compassion and openness.
Integrity
We meet our individual and collective commitments with full transparency.
Collaboration
We work in collaboration and partnership to hear a range of opinions, account for different needs, and encourage mobilization.
Solidarity
We recognize the interdependence of women and the organizations supporting them, and we support each other mutually.
Inclusiveness
We include and involve all women without discrimination as to race, religion, ethnicity, age, social status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, or gender identity.
Mission
Action ontarienne contre la violence faite aux femmes is the leader in its field of activity in Ontario.
GOALS
- Improve French-speaking counsellors’ abilities through research, analysis, understanding of issues, training, and tool development;
- Facilitate collaboration and solidarity among our members and stakeholders;
- Foster and support the development and strengthening of women’s shelters, sexual assault centres, and provincial violence against women programs that offer French-language services in Ontario;
- Raise awareness among communities and government policymakers about violence against women and Francophone women’s rights, in all their diversity.
PRIORITIES
In its 2023-2028 strategic plan, Action ontarienne defined the four priorities that guide the organization’s decisions:
- Priority 1: Dialogue
- Priority 2: Collaboration
- Priority 3: Advocacy
- Priority 4: Sustainability of our service network
